Maternity
In-patient maternity: 10% coinsurance, up to AED 20,000 for normal delivery and medically necessary C-Section, termination and complications (extends to the Annual Limit in an emergency). New-born cover 30 days from birth including BCG, Hepatitis B and neo-natal screening. Out-patient maternity: 10% coinsurance, up to 15 visits and 8 ante-natal ultrasound scans. Pregnancy must be declared in the MAF; undeclared pregnancy is pre-existing and carries an additional annual premium.

Pre-existing / Chronic Conditions
Covered up to AED 150,000 per member per year for declared pre-existing/chronic conditions (in the Medical Application Form) and newly diagnosed conditions during the policy period; undeclared pre-existing conditions are not covered during the policy period and will be underwritten at renewal; any form of cancer falls within the definition of chronic conditions.

Within the Network (Direct Billing)
Direct billing available. Reimbursement is also possible, settled at 80% of the usual and customary rates of the selected network plus the respective benefit copay/deductible as stated in the TOB.
Outside the Network (Reimbursement)
Reimbursement at 100% of actual costs or 100% of usual and customary rates (whichever is less) in countries where NAS is not present; 80% of actual costs or 80% of usual and customary rates (whichever is less) where NAS is present.
Adult Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine
The adult pneumococcal conjugate vaccine is covered as per DHA's adult pneumococcal conjugate vaccination guidelines. Dubai visa holders only.
Cancer Treatments
Cancer screening, healthcare services, investigations and treatment are covered on the terms, conditions and exclusions of the programme defined by DHA, and only for members enrolled in the Patient Support Program. Dubai visa holders only.
Cash indemnity for in-patient stays
If you are hospitalised for medically necessary treatment that the policy covers but you do not submit the claim to the insurer, you are paid AED 300 per night for a maximum of 10 nights. The claim must be submitted within 15 days after discharge, with proof of hospitalisation including a discharge summary.
Follow-up consultation co-pay (within 7 days)
No consultation deductible is charged for a follow-up within 7 days for the same treatment with the same doctor.
Dental, hearing & vision aids, vision correction
Diagnosis and treatment of dental and gum emergencies is covered subject to 20% coinsurance. A dental emergency is an injury to your teeth or gums that puts you at risk of permanent damage - for example a chipped or broken tooth, a knocked-out tooth or soft-tissue injuries. Emergency cases only.
Hearing Emergencies
Hearing emergencies are covered subject to 20% coinsurance - for example an object or insect in the ear, a ruptured eardrum or sudden hearing loss. Emergency cases only.
Hepatitis B Virus Screening and treatment
Screening, healthcare services, investigations and treatment for viral hepatitis B and its associated complications are covered on the terms, conditions and exclusions of the programme defined by DHA, and only for members enrolled in the Patient Support Program. Dubai visa holders only.
Hepatitis C Infection
Screening, healthcare services, investigations and treatment for viral hepatitis C and its associated complications are covered on the terms, conditions and exclusions of the programme defined by DHA, and only for members enrolled in the Patient Support Program. Dubai visa holders only.
Influenza Vaccine
The influenza vaccine is covered once per year.
New Born baby coverage
A pregnant member's cover is extended to her newborn for 30 days from the date of birth, with the same benefits, whether or not the baby is later enrolled as a dependant. It includes BCG and hepatitis B vaccination and neo-natal screening tests (phenylketonuria, congenital hypothyroidism, sickle cell screening and congenital adrenal hyperplasia).
Preventive services (members over 18)
Preventive services are covered as per DHA regulations.
Organ transplantation (recipient only)
Organ transplant is covered up to AED 100,000 per person per year, subject to a 20% copay. Cover is for the recipient only: any cost related to the donor, and the acquisition and cost of the organ, are excluded. Organs covered are heart, lung, kidney, pancreas, liver, and allogeneic and autologous bone marrow.
Second Medical Opinion
A second medical opinion is covered, subject to pre-approval managed by Takaful Emarat.
Accompanying person accommodation
A person accompanying the patient in the same room is covered at AED 400 per day, on the recommendation of the attending physician and subject to prior approval.
Vision Emergencies
Vision emergencies are covered subject to 20% coinsurance - for example bleeding or discharge from or around the eye, double vision, and total or partial loss of vision in one or both eyes. Emergency cases only.
