Maternity
In-patient: covered subject to 10% coinsurance up to AED 12,500 (medically necessary expenses covered up to the annual aggregate limit if a condition develops into an emergency; pregnancy must be declared in the Medical Application Form). Out-patient: covered subject to 10% coinsurance, up to 12 visits and 6 ante-natal ultrasound scans (undeclared pregnancy not covered during the policy period; newborn covered for 30 days from birth).

Alternative Medicines
Limited to AED 2,500 per person per annum, subject to 20% co-pay. No co-pay on a follow-up visit within seven days. Claims are settled on reimbursement basis, only from providers recognized and approved by Nextcare as alternative preferred providers (see the Nextcare website).

Out-patient and in-patient each covered up to AED 10,000 per person per annum; 20% coinsurance payable by the insured per visit for out-patient services.

AED 1,500 with 20% Co-Pay. In-Network: Direct Billing. Out of Network: Reimbursement.
Routine Optical Benefits
AED 1,000 with 20% Co-Pay. Sub-limits: AED 300 frames (1 pair/year), AED 200 single vision lenses/year, AED 250 bifocal or tri-focal lenses/year, AED 300 contact lenses/year. In-Network: Direct Billing, Out of Network: Reimbursement. Usual and Customary rates (UCR) applied for contact lenses.
Pre-existing / Chronic Conditions
Covered up to AED 150,000 per member per year, subject to Medical Application Form declaration and medical underwriting; undeclared pre-existing conditions are not covered during the policy period.

Adult Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine
Covered as per the DHA Adult Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccination guidelines — only for Dubai visa holders.
Cancer Treatments
Cancer screening, healthcare services, investigations and treatment are covered as per the terms, conditions and exclusions of the DHA programme — only for members enrolled in the Patient Support Program. Only for Dubai visa holders.
Cash indemnity for in-patient stays
If an in-patient stay is not claimed from the insurer, AED 250 per night is paid back, for up to 10 nights. The claim must be submitted within 15 days of discharge with proof of hospitalisation including a discharge summary.
Follow-up consultation co-pay (within 7 days)
No consultation deductible is charged for a follow-up within 7 days for the same treatment with the same doctor.
Dental, hearing & vision aids, vision correction
Emergency dental and gum treatment only, with 20% coinsurance. A dental emergency is an injury to teeth or gums risking permanent damage — chipped or broken teeth, a knocked-out tooth, soft-tissue injuries and similar.
Hearing Emergencies
Hearing aids and hearing treatment are covered for emergencies only, with 20% coinsurance. Hearing emergencies include an object or insect in the ear, a ruptured eardrum and sudden hearing loss.
Hepatitis B Virus Screening and treatment
Screening, healthcare services, investigations and treatment are covered as per the terms, conditions and exclusions of the DHA programme, only for members enrolled in the Patient Support Program. Only for Dubai visa holders.
Hepatitis C Infection
Screening, healthcare services, investigations and treatment for viral hepatitis and complications related to Hepatitis C are covered as per the terms, conditions and exclusions of the DHA programme — only for members enrolled in the Patient Support Program. Only for Dubai visa holders.
Influenza Vaccine
Covered once a year, on reimbursement only, limited to the cost of the vaccine and giving it.
New Born baby coverage
A newborn is covered for 30 days from birth with the same benefits as the mother, whether or not the baby is later enrolled as a dependent. Includes BCG and Hepatitis B vaccination and neo-natal screening tests (phenylketonuria, congenital hypothyroidism, sickle cell screening, congenital adrenal hyperplasia).
Preventive services (members over 18)
Preventive services are covered as per DHA regulations.
Organ transplantation (recipient only)
Covers the patient as the recipient of an organ transplant. Costs relating to the donor, and the cost of acquiring the organ, are not covered. Organs covered: heart, lung, kidney, pancreas, liver, and allogeneic and autologous bone marrow.

Accompanying person accommodation
AED 250 per day for a person staying in the same room as the patient, on the attending physician's recommendation and subject to prior approval.
Vision Emergencies
Vision aids and vision correction by surgery or laser are covered for emergencies only, with 20% coinsurance. Vision emergencies include bleeding or discharge from or around the eye, double vision, and total or partial loss of vision in one or both eyes.
